Fishes

They are shoaling species and should be kept in group of at least 5. These are very active fish, so they require more space to swim around in, also to be healthy and happy.

Catfish is primarily a nocturnal fish, so the aquarium lighting should be dim to maintain the activity of this fish.

Sandy substrate must be placed in the aquarium. Driftwood, artificial rocks and clay plant pots should be added in the aquarium which will provide sufficient shades and hiding places for them.

Catfish produce more waste because they are notorious eaters also they are sensitive to nitrates so a good filtration system is needed.
