The rosy barb (Pethia conchonius) belongs to cyprinidae family found in southern Asia from Afghanistan to Bangladesh.

They are peaceful in nature and can be kept with many other fishes.

These fish can either be added to a tank with other barb species such as the Cherry Barb, or Tiger Barb. Alternatively, they can be kept with Swordtails, American Cichlids, Ropefish, Paradise Fish, Mollies, Neon Tetras, and Gouramis. 

Rosy Barbs tend to nip the fins of other fish so; you should not keep them with other slow swimming species that have long-flowing fins.

Ornamental fishes

These ornamental fishes are omnivorous. Small insects, crustaceans, worms, bloodworms, and brine shrimp can be given to them. Also dried food can be fed in the form of flakes or pellets.

You should feed them foods that they can consume within two minutes twice a day.

Aquarium fishes

Rosy barb can be kept in group of at least 5 in an aquarium. A sand or fine-grained gravel substrate can be placed in the aquarium. Add rocks, caves, driftwood, dim lights and plants with firm leaves. Rosy Barbs usually prefer water with high oxygen levels so you should add a filter that which will provide a continuous supply of oxygen to the water.
